On June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the Presidential Center of the Administrative Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold an expert meeting entitled “Shanghai Cooperation Organisation: Evolution and Transformation over 25 Years” as part of the SCO’s 25th anniversary commemorations.
The purpose of the event is to analyze the outcomes of the SCO’s 25-year development, identify current challenges, and formulate practical recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of the Organization’s institutions in the context of its expansion.
The following distinguished guests have been invited to participate in the expert meeting: Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation; Murat Mukushev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and National Coordinator for SCO Affairs; Dauren Aben, Deputy Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; as well as representatives of government agencies, heads and leading analysts of specialized think tanks, scholars, and experts in international relations from China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
The expert meeting will be held in a hybrid format. International participants will join the event online.
