On May 5, on the eve of Victory Day, the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the event "Feat is Heritage of the Country". Grade 8A students from School-Gymnasium No. 7 named after G. Ormanov took part in the ceremony.
The event aimed at instilling in the younger generation a sense of patriotism, civic responsibility, and preserving the historical memory of the unparalleled feat of the people of Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War.
The students presented a literary and musical performance that complemented the historical chronicle with creative acts. On stage, they recreated the images of legendary heroes: Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, Talgat Begeldinov, Rakhymzhan Koshkarbayev, and Sagadat Nurmagambetov. Theatrical scenes of soldiers’ farewells and front-line hardships deeply moved the audience.
The event focused on the spiritual connection between the great akyn Zhambyl Zhabayev and the renowned poet Gali Ormanov, after whom the school-gymnasium is named. The students noted this year marks the 180th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev's birth. His poems "Leningraders, My Children!" became a powerful ideological weapon against the enemy. It was emphasized that thanks to the painstaking work of G. Ormanov, who served as the akyn's literary secretary from 1939 to 1945, Zhabayev's frontline legacy has survived in its original form. "The goal of our event today is not simply to recall bare facts of history but to channel the pain of loss and the joy of the Great Victory into the children's hearts. We want every student to understand that the peaceful skies of today are a precept left to us by our ancestors," noted teacher A. Shekerov.
