On 24 April, the Presidential Centre of the DPA RK organized an off-site museum lesson for Year 7 students at Gymnasium No. 91 in Astana, which explored the rich traditions of Kazakh jewelery-making.

Staff from the Cultural and Educational Projects Service presented jewelry pieces and explained the history of jewelry making in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Students learned that, in steppe culture, jewelry served not only as accessories but also as symbols indicating social status, family ties, and marital status.

The lesson covered materials and manufacturing techniques, including silver, natural stones, and complex techniques such as chasing and granulation. It highlighted the symbolism of ornaments and the functions of items like sholpy, bes bіlezіk, and otau zhuzіk. Students learned that each piece of jewelry served as both a protective charm and a family heirloom, passed down through generations to connect ancestors and descendants.
