As part of the educational initiatives organized by the Presidential Centre of the UDP of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a series of outreach lectures was held in the first ten days of April on the topic "Modern Environmental Issues: Status and Solutions." Students from the Kazakhstan International Linguistic College (KILC) and the College of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University took part in these events.
During the lectures, Gulden Karagizova, leading researcher of the Cultural and Educational Projects Service of the Presidential Centre of the DPA RK, presented a detailed overview of the current environmental situation. Particular attention focused on the strategic objectives set by Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his recent Address to the Nation. The President emphasized that forming a new ideology of careful use of natural resources and developing a "green economy" are the foundation of state policy.
A central topic was the nationwide "Taza Kazakstan" campaign, launched by the Head of State and now a large-scale movement involving millions of citizens. The discussion emphasized that environmental awareness should be a daily practice and a mark of patriotism. The lecturer highlighted the President's call to integrate respect for nature into the national ideology, to promote forest expansion as a national priority, and to implement environmental education at all levels. The audience showed particular interest in Astana's "Green Belt," a unique man-made forest spanning over 100,000 hectares.
The lectures were conducted in an open dialogue format. College students actively participated in discussions on rational water consumption, reducing the environmental impacts of landfills, and combating desertification. Participants agreed that preserving Kazakhstan's natural environment is a shared responsibility.
