The photo exhibition "Thread of Generations," combining history and local lore, opened at the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Timed to coincide with International Women's Day on March 8, the exhibition aims to highlight the working person, elevate the status of light industry professions, and reinforce professional cultural values.
The exhibition features archival photographs from the personal collection of local historian and photographer Nurmukhamat Imamov, whose 100th anniversary is celebrated this year. These images document the history of the capital's clothing factories.
A dedicated section, "Nostalgia," showcases patterns, fashion magazines, and newspaper articles from previous decades. Notably, historical photographs have been transferred onto textiles and commemorative retro accessories.
The opening ceremony included renowned Kazakhstani TV presenters Aigul Mukei and Lyaila Sultankyzy, along with designer Zarina Akshulakova, who presented a collection of women's clothing featuring photo prints of works from the photo exhibition.
