A ceremony took place at the Presidential Center of the DPA RK to hand over unique exhibits from the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, highlighting significant achievements in the history of national sports. During the event, special awards and memorabilia commemorating the international victories of Kazakhstani athletes were officially added to the museum collection of the Presidential Center.
The donated items included sports equipment, archival photographs, paintings dedicated to distinguished athletes, and other valuable historical relics and artefacts. In total, approximately 100 items were contributed.
This initiative aims to preserve, promote, and pass on to future generations the historical legacy of national masters of sport who have brought global glory to the country. Representatives of the NOC and renowned athletes participated in the ceremony.
"It is deeply symbolic that our meeting is taking place during the Winter Olympic Games, during which our compatriot Mikhail Shaidorov achieved a historic victory, winning the gold medal in men's singles skating. This outstanding achievement is not only an inspiring example for the rising generation of young athletes but also a vivid confirmation of the high level and powerful potential of domestic sport, made possible by our state's consistent, systemic policy of comprehensive support for sports and the dedicated teamwork of our athletes, coaches, managers, and the National Olympic Committee. The exhibits and photo archives donated by the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan to the museum collection of the Presidential Center exemplify the country's athletic achievements. These unique materials represent more than mere exhibits; they constitute a living history of national sport, reflecting notable victories, intense competition, resilience, and patriotism. "We wish the national team success at the ongoing Winter Olympics, and all our athletes new victories, records, and outstanding achievements," said Bakytzhan Temirbolat, Director of the Presidential Center, in his speech.
"We are especially proud to present the memorabilia of Kazakhstan's Olympic athletes to the Presidential Center museum. This legacy reflects the fortitude and victories of our athletes, who have brought glory to Kazakhstan on the international stage. By donating these exhibits, the NOC is helping preserve the history of sport. We are confident that they will become a source of pride for the citizens of the country within the walls of the Presidential Center. In the future, we plan to continue expanding the Center's museum collection so that the sports history is preserved and passed on to future generations," said Nurlan Nogerbek, Director General of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The new exhibits will expand the Presidential Center's museum collection and take pride of place in the permanent exhibition, offering visitors a deeper understanding of the victorious path of Kazakhstani athletes and key chapters in national sports history.
