The library of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a dynamic cultural and educational institution, continually expanding its collection with works related to the activities of the President and former Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including their original publications both domestically and internationally. The collection comprises books and other printed materials featuring inscriptions from authors to heads of state, rare and collectible editions, gift publications, periodicals, reference works, and biographical as well as bibliographic indexes.
In 2025, the library collection grew by 300 volumes, primarily consisting of gift books from world leaders of neighboring and distant countries, as well as donations from notable public and political figures, artists, and cultural representatives. Additionally, the collection continues to be enriched by contributions from authors, readers, and visitors. The total number of printed publications now stands at approximately 23,000 copies.
The Center also hosts various events to promote reading and literature. For example, on March 12th, a literary hour dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Tumanbay Moldagaliyev, the People's Poet of Kazakhstan and laureate of the Fizuli International Prize, was held with the participation of students of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and staff of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On November 6th, a similar event was held for students at Fariza Ongarsynova Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 77 to commemorate the 190th anniversary of Shokan Ualikhanov, the Kazakh educator, democrat, ethnographer, and folklorist. Participants watched videos about the scientist's life and scientific work, listened to presentations, and participated in quizzes and discussions.
Throughout the year, bibliographical reviews and book exhibitions of new publications added to the library's collection, "Zhana kіtap - zhanga syr," were organized to celebrate Librarian's Day. Students from the BINOM SCHOOL network of lyceums in Astana and Atyrau, as well as university and college students, attended the exhibition. On December 12, a book exhibition and bibliographical review, "Historical heritage and modern Kazakhstan," was held, dedicated to new publications from the library's collections. More than 30 new books were presented, covering themes of national consciousness, statehood, historical continuity, and spiritual heritage.
As part of the national environmental campaign "Taza Kazakhstan," a readership meeting was held, during which a review of the literature of "Taza Kazakhstan" – For the sake of nature" was conducted. An exhibition, "Ecology is the destiny of the country," was organized during the meeting, featuring the Center's archival documents.
The library of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan holds a unique collection of rare publications. To promote the collection and preserve the historical and cultural heritage, a catalog was published in 2025, including 107 rare and valuable printed editions of Soviet and foreign literature on the history of Kazakhstan and world history: "Kazakhstan in the Works of Scientists and Orientalist Researchers of the 19th and 20th Centuries" and "World History."
It is worth noting that a delegation from the state of Selangor, Malaysia, led by the Chief Minister and Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, visited the Presidential Centre as part of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. The delegation was presented with the unique collections of rare and valuable publications. To strengthen international cooperation and create a platform for professional communication and the exchange of experience between the libraries of the two countries, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed, facilitating collaboration on library projects.
The Presidential Centre regularly supports the exhibition of book publications at official meetings of the Head of State with world leaders and at high-level international events.
