On June 12, a meeting of the "Fathers of Today" was held, conducted by Serik Sydykov, Deputy Director of the Presidential Centre and Chairman of the Council of Chief Mentors of the DPA RK. The event was attended by Bekdayr Kuzembay, Chairman of the Astana city branch of the "Union of Fathers"RPA, Yesenbek Serkebayev, Executive Secretary of the Astana territorial branch "Birlik" of the AMANAT party, as well as employees from organizations affiliated with the DPA RK.

In our country, according to the Government Resolution of June 1, 2023, Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. It was approved in the same year at the VIII Republican Forum with the participation of Central Asian countries. In many countries around the world, these dates are established to strengthen the institution of the family, support fatherhood, and promote family values.

Opening the meeting, Serik Sydykov highlighted the importance of the topic:

"Our event is being held on the eve of Father's Day, which will be celebrated on June 15. It is symbolic that we are discussing this here — at the Presidential Center — a space dedicated to the exchange of ideas on leadership, public service, and social development. Fatherhood is also a form of leadership, one that begins in the family and resonates throughout society. The modern father is not only a protector and mentor. We see how the image of the father is transforming: he is becoming closer, more open, and more emotional while remaining the pillar of the family, a bearer of inner strength and resilience. Today's format is an open discussion — a chance to ask questions, share opinions, and speak from the heart. I hope each of us leaves this meeting with thoughts that will stay with us for a long time."

During the meeting, Serik Slamzhanovich also spoke about some of his favourite books dedicated to the themes of family values, the role of the father, and the journey of growing up through the understanding of parental love: "Akemmen syrlasu" by A.Ysqaq, "A Word About Father" by K. Tokayev, and "Ascent to the Father" by B. Momyshuly.).

B. Kuzembay shared his observations on the role of fathers in modern society and emphasized the need to form a positive image of the father in the media and culture:

"It is important to support fathers who participate in the lives of their children, set an example, and put their heart into it. It is essential that this be talked about, shown, taught, and that other men be inspired to engage in active fatherhood."

He also noted that the ‘Union of Fathers' RPA actively works in schools and holds meetings, contests and educational activities aimed at involving fathers in family and public life.

E. Serkebaev focused on state support for the family and the strategic role of fatherhood in the sustainable development of the country:

"The family is the foundation of a strong state, and therefore fatherhood is a matter of social stability, raising citizens with an active life position. It is within the family that principles are laid down, which later manifest in society: respect, diligence, and honesty. And the father plays a key role in this."

He emphasized that the AMANAT party supports initiatives aimed at strengthening the family, protecting children and involving men in the processes of upbringing, including through legislative, educational and public measures.

The participants expressed gratitude for the sincere atmosphere of the discussion, noted the relevance of the topics raised, and voiced wishes for further development of platforms where fatherhood can be openly discussed as a crucial social and personal phenomenon.
