
On May 29, 2024, at 3 p.m., the Presidential Center of the President’s affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan will hold a round table"Political repression of the twentieth century: a conceptual vision and a political and legal assessment" dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression and Famine.
The key objectives of this event are expert analysisand discussion of a wide range of topical issues of political repression in Kazakhstan and the republics of the former Soviet Union, an objective legal and political assessment of the theory and practice of political repression in the Soviet period, research into the consequences of the totalitarian system of terror and the discriminatory practices underlying it. Theopinions and expert assessments of well-knownscientists and researchers allow us to form a comprehensive vision of the consequences of theSoviet terror of those years.
The round table will be attended by deputies of theParliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and theRepublic of Azerbaijan, well-known domestic andforeign research scientists, representatives ofdevelopment institutions and civil society, faculty andstudents of universities of Kazakhstan.
