The Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the museum lesson "Kazakh musical art," which was attended by students from the capital school-lyceum № 40 named after Alkey Margulan.

In the interactive hall of the museum, schoolchildren got acquainted with the structure of Kazakh national instruments: kobyz, dombra and zhetigen, and the peculiarities of their manufacture. Besides, the children had an opportunity to hold them in their hands and listen to their sounds.

The children also learned about the legend of Korkyt, the creator of the kobyz, akyn, storyteller, patron of poets and musicians, his musical and philosophical legacy.  To help students learn how to differentiate between the two types of dombra music, tokpe and shertpe, the lecturer demonstrated on the screen video clips of the performance of kyuis "Adai" and "Saryzhailau".

At the end of the lesson, the participants answered questions, and one of the schoolgirls played the dombra.
