The "Man. Nature. Time" personal exhibition, honoring the heritage of renowned Kazakh artist and member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and Kazakhstan Sagintay Alimbetov, opened at the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan on March 28, 2024.
The exhibition is organized by the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the project "Cultural Code of Independence", which features about sixty paintings by the author.
In his welcoming speech, Director of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Temirbolat noted: "Sagintai Alimbetov is called a philosopher of painting. This is no coincidence because in his work reality and myths, past and present are harmoniously intertwined, forcing viewers to think and reflect on life around us through the prism of eternal values and see the high in the ordinary life. The artist's philosophical reflections on the history, culture, and traditions of his native people are reflected in the clear lines of his works. Thanks to the creative talent and philosophical rethinking of the master, traditional subjects reflect artistic images and ideas, in which each of the viewers will find themes and motifs that resonate with him. The author is one of the few artists who left their mark on Kazakh fine art, following the legacy of the famous Kazakh artist Abilkhan Kasteev. S. Alimbetov left behind not only a rich creative heritage but also many students who followed his path."
"Sagintai Alimbetov was a very talented artist, a great master of art. His works are a combination of harmony of man, nature and time, they show a close relationship between nomadic traditions and the environment," said Maria Zhumagulova, a member of the Union of Artists and the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan.
It is worth noting that in his work the master touched on a variety of themes and subjects that convey the depth of character and reflect the thoughts of figures of ancient and modern history. A series of paintings "Mother and Child" gives a sense of calm and tranquility of life. Another series is dedicated to the author's small homeland - the land of rice and melons.
It should be noted that S. Alimbetov created portraits of the steppe prophet Monke bi, batyrs Yeset Kotibarula and Tileu Aitula, millet grower Shyganak Bersiev, sniper Aliya Moldagulova, which convey the depth of character and reflect the thoughts of these historical figures.
A separate series is dedicated to the images of great Kazakh composers such as Korkyt-ata, Kurmangazy, Dina Nurpeisova, Tattymbet, Kazangap, Dauletkerey, Akhmet and Gaziza Zhubanov. Such a variety of images speaks of an extensive knowledge of national history, culture and art.
Along with painting, the artist has graphic, sculptural works, complex compositions of Shym Shi (ancient applied art).
S. Alimbetov's paintings are exhibited in various state and non-state institutions of the country, and are also in private collections in Kazakhstan, еру USA, France, Austria, Turkey and Holland.
For reference: Sagintai Alimbetov (1953-2018) was born in the state farm "Krasnaya Zvezda" in the Zhanakorgan district of the Kyzylorda region and spent his childhood in Shieli. Like his grandfather, Sagintai was supposed to become a blacksmith. The forge attracted the boy, later - it became the hero of his paintings (for example, "The Spirit of the Forge"), but as a child, he was nicknamed the boy-artist, and the choice of profession was obvious. In 1977, he graduated from the Almaty Art College, from 1977 to 1984, he taught painting and composition at the Aktobe Cultural and Educational College, having educated many talented students. In 1987, he became a Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and worked as Chairman of the Board of the Aktobe regional organization of the Union of Artists. In 1998, he was the author of the Emblem and Flag of Aktobe, later he was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of Aktobe".
