A visiting lecture entitled "Islam in Kazakhstan: history, problems, prospects" by the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan was given to students of the Construction and Technical College of Astana. The presentation covered the history of the emergence and spread of Islam on the territory of our country.
Islam played a crucial role in the formation of the original spirituality and culture of the Kazakh people, as noted during the lecture. The importance of this issue in science, theory, and practice has been demonstrated through vivid examples.
The discussion was centered around the importance of observance of religious rules and norms in a globalizing mass culture. Special attention is paidto the problems of the emergence of religious extremism in Kazakhstan, the effectiveness of measures to counter the spread of destructive ideologies, legislative norms to combat religious extremism, etc.
