Primary school pupils at the capital's gymnasium No. 3 participated in an on-site museum lecture about Tenge, the country's currency, led by staff members of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The kids learned fascinating information about the national currency and became familiar with the history of the creation of money in general and the Kazakh tenge in particular.
"Tenge is one of the symbols of our state, one of the criteria of its independence. Academician Sauyk Takezhanov first proposed the name for the future national currency. From the proposed options: aksha, som, altyn, tur, it was decided to settle on the name "tenge". The Decree issued on November 12, 1993, by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan marked the beginning of the tenge's history. And on November 15, Kazakhstan celebrates National Currency Day every year," noted the lecturer at the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Exciting tasks and games helped the kids consolidate their acquired knowledge.
