Today in the Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan the final game was held, which ended with the awarding ceremony of the winners of the inter-school museum project "Big Regatta".
The project's primary goal is to integrate the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan's museum collection into the unified cultural and educational area of Astana.
The "Big Regatta", which kicked off in November last year, was targeted at pupils from 7-8 classes of schools in the capital and took place in two stages. The first stage's itinerary included visits to five school museums in the city on specially-designed routes: "A Special Pantry", "Kaleidoscope of Cultures", "Memory, feat, and glory." While visiting these museum objects, a kind of "islands", the teams familiarized themselves with the materials presented there and performed various tasks.
More than fifty pupils from nine secondary education institutions in the capital got the opportunity to learn more about their home country and the lives and accomplishments of notable people who have had a major impact on Kazakhstani society's history, all thanks to the traveling game.
The teams "Alash Orda" (school-lyceum No. 54), "Emerald" (school-lyceum No. 60), "Iceberg" (school-lyceum No. 85) and "Odysseus" (school-lyceum No. 28), which reached the finals, fought for the title of the winner on the "Archipelago" itself - in the museum of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"Guys, I am aware of how eagerly each squad anticipated winning the final games. The fact that the Presidential Center is an "Archipelago," uniting all of the "islands" - museum artefacts - involved in the game, is very meaningful. This regatta brought everyone together, demonstrated a great thirst for discovery, the desire to get acquainted with the valuable cultural heritage carefully kept in school museums, to try their hand and dive into the unknown depths of the history of the formation of independent Kazakhstan, accumulated on the "Archipelago", - said in his speech Deputy Director of the Presidential Center of Kazakhstan Serik Sydykov.
According to the results of the final game, the winner was recognized as the crew that fulfilled all the tasks, managed to be the first to find a hiding spot on the "Archipelago" and gave the correct interpretation of the mysterious exhibit-symbol found in it. And this winner, the owner of the Grand Prix was the team "Odyssey".
The remaining awards were given out as follows:
1st place - team "Iceberg";
2nd place - team "Emerald";
3rd place - team "Alash Orda".
During the award ceremony the winners of the "Big Regatta" were awarded diplomas and memorable gifts, the best museums and their curators were also awarded certificates and diplomas of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
