The outgoing year 2023 turned out to be eventful.
As part of the democratization of the political system, serious steps have been taken, all branches of government have been rebooted, the system of checks and balances has been strengthened, and administrative reform has begun to be implemented. Elections to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Maslikhats of all levels, as well as akims of districts and villages, were held based on the updated electoral system. The regions now have a far higher degree of independence. To improve the well-being of citizens, a new Social Code was adopted, and the projects "Comfortable School", "Development of rural health care", "Auyl Amanaty", and the presidential program "National Fund for Children" are being gradually implemented.
As part of building a fair economic system, active work has been carried out to return illegally acquired assets to the State. Systematic measures to support small and medium-sized businesses are being implemented. The Law "On Restoration of Solvency and Bankruptcy of Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan" has been adopted, the draft of the new Tax Code is under development, and the state tariff reform has been launched.
Following the multi-vector principle, our nation conducts a consistent, well-balanced foreign policy within the framework of Fair Kazakhstan's strategic trajectory.
I do not doubt that in the upcoming year of 2024, each of these great efforts will see a more rapid development.
