One of the most significant dates in our nation's history is October 25. The first move toward independence was taken on this day in 1990 when Kazakhstan adopted its Declaration of State Sovereignty.
The Declaration proclaimed the sovereignty of the country and declared the political and legal foundations of Kazakhstan as an independent state, primarily the integrity and inviolability of the territory.
Republic Day was designated as a national holiday by the Head of State's decree from the previous year, underscoring its extraordinary historical significance for Kazakhstan's statehood.
The Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, whose mission is to study and promote the historical legacies of our independence through the lens of the Institute of the Presidency of Kazakhstan, was founded on the eve of this momentous day, which is doubly gratifying.
May this festive day fill our hearts with joy, aspiration for unity and love for the Motherland. I hope for health, happiness, and prosperity in every house and family, as well as stability and prosperity for our nation!
