On June 25, staff from the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a mobile museum lesson titled "My Capital – Astana" for preschoolers from Kindergarten No. 1 "Baiterek."
The interactive lesson, organized in anticipation of Capital Day, guided the children through a comprehensive exploration of the city's historical development.
Through a multimedia presentation, the organizers explained the historical transformations of the region. The children learned about ancient settlements, nomadic tribes, the construction of the Akmola fortress, and significant milestones in the histories of Akmola and Tselinograd. The historical journey ended in 1997, when the city became Kazakhstan's capital and began rapid development.
In the second part of the lesson, the children reinforced their knowledge through the "Capital Experts" game and examined unique exhibits brought to the kindergarten by the Presidential Center staff. The preschoolers closely studied detailed miniature models representing the city's main landmarks.
Following the theoretical component, the children participated in a group creative project titled "Our Astana." Having received “blank canvases” of city streets, glue, and sets of cutout figures, the children enthusiastically “populated” the new capital district with pedestrians, cars, green trees, and birds, breathing life into the paper avenues.
At the conclusion of the lesson, the children shared their impressions, recalled the key stages in the city's development, and expressed a commitment to safeguarding their homeland.
"The history of Astana began a long time ago. Today, it is the heart of our homeland, a city that all of Kazakhstan is proud of, and it is your city. When you grow up, you will make it even more beautiful. Love your country, its history, and its beautiful capital," lecturer Nazira Musina addressed the young audience.
