The Presidential Center is to host the opening of an exhibition commemorating the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's space flight.

On April 9 at 3:00 PM, the Presidential Center of the DPA RK will open the archival and illustrative exhibition "Let's Go! 65 Years Ago..." This exhibition is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's space flight from Kazakhstan and the 25th anniversary of space tourism.

The exhibition's goal is to trace the historical continuity from the first human spaceflight to the formation and development of Kazakhstan's modern space industry and to demonstrate its role in the country's achievements as part of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of this landmark event in world history. It also aims to promote Kazakhstan's space heritage and highlight the 25th anniversary of commercial space tourism as an example of the industry's innovative development.

The exhibition's partners include the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its subordinate enterprises, and the Baikonur Cosmodrome History Museum.

On April 12, 1961, at 9:07 a.m. Moscow time, the Vostok 1 spacecraft launched into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. On board was Yuri Gagarin, a young Soviet pilot. His flight lasted 108 minutes. Yuri Gagarin's flight became a turning point for all of humanity. He opened a new era in space exploration, becoming a symbol of scientific progress, inspiring people around the world to dream of space exploration and the discoveries that await us beyond our planet. In honor of the fiftieth anniversary of human spaceflight, on April 7, 2011, the UN General Assembly proclaimed April 12 as the International Day of Human Space Flight.

On October 2, 1991, Toktar Aubakirov became the first Kazakh cosmonaut to travel into space, participating in a space expedition from October 2 to 10, 1991.

From 1994 to 2001, Talgat Musabayev, Kazakhstan's first cosmonaut, completed three space missions. He was recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records for spending more than a day in space during a single flight. Musabayev commanded the Soyuz TM-32 spacecraft, which launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on April 28, 2001, carrying the first space tourist, American entrepreneur Dennis Tito.

Aidyn Aimbetov, the third Kazakhstani cosmonaut, launched to the International Space Station on September 2, 2015. His mission lasted approximately ten days.

The exhibition is organized into two sections:

I. "The First Step into Boundless Space" – This section highlights the historical significance of Yuri Gagarin's first spaceflight, which initiated a new era in space exploration and became a symbol of scientific progress.

II. "Kazakhstan and Space" – This section presents materials on the development of the space industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It focuses on the achievements of Kazakhstani cosmonauts T.
