As part of its cultural and educational work, employees of the Presidential Centre of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a visiting museum lesson for the second-grade students of school-lyceum No. 84 named after Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahayan in Astana. The event introduced the young learners to the history and symbolism of Kazakhstan's national currency, the tenge. During the session, students explored the diverse world of currency, gaining insight into circulating coins and limited-edition commemorative and jubilee coins. Special attention was paid to the uniqueness of coins made of precious metals, which are coveted by collectors and used as memorable gifts. In an interactive format, the children became familiar with the full range of coin denominations — 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 tenge. They also examined key design elements, including the reverse side featuring the national emblem and the obverse with the nominal value and year of issue. A highlight of the lesson was the game “Magic Box”. By listening to sounds and observing the physical characteristics, the children identified coins hidden inside, compared their size and denomination, and discussed the materials from which they were made. The session concluded with an open discussion, during which students shared their impressions, recalled the different types of currency, named Kazakhstan's national currency, and learned about Tenge Day. The lesson was held in an atmosphere of lively dialogue and left the children with many positive emotions.
