The Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the opening of the collection exhibition “Firearms: Pistol History” dedicated to Day of Defender of the Fatherland of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War and the 100th anniversary of R. Koshkarbayev and S. Nurmagambetov.
The ceremony began with a defile of the guard of honor of the State Guard Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the performance of musical compositions by the creative team of the Presidential Orchestra.
As the Director of the Presidential Center of the Presidential Affairs Department, Bakytzhan Temirbolat noted in his welcoming speech, the purpose of today's event is patriotic education and stimulation of interest in the history of the native country. The exhibition for the first time demonstrated unique samples of historical and modern weapons from the museum collection of the Presidential Center, which are an integral part of military history and military art. In total, 80 exhibits are on display, including more than 30 firearms.
According to the Deputy Executive Director of Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation Alkey Margulan, holding such an exhibition, demonstrating the stages of development of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, as well as the great feats of arms of our compatriots during the Great Patriotic War will contribute to the education of a new generation of patriotic Kazakh youth.
In his speech state and public figure, Lieutenant General Abay Tasbolatov noted: “There are many manifestations of real patriotism. One of them is knowledge of the history of the native land, people, knowledge and honoring the feats of ancestors who made an invaluable contribution to the development of our country. Just think about it, the hero of today's exhibition Sagadat Nurmagambetov received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union when he was only 20 years old. Our young military personnel should be proud of such outstanding personalities and take an example from them. Only then will the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan have a great future”.
According to Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces for educational and ideological work of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, Colonel Yermiyan Byatov, the Armed Forces of the country went a long and difficult way of development. Today, Kazakhstan has a strong and combat-capable army, reliably defending the independence of the state and continuing the fighting traditions laid down by our ancestors during the war.
The exhibition presents materials reflecting the heroic feats of soldiers who defended the motherland during the Great Patriotic War, as well as materials on the formation and development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition is based on the collection of firearms from the Presidential Center.
The exhibition consists of 3 sections:
I. “Heroes of the Great Patriotic War”. The section shows materials about the exploits of Kazakh soldiers during the Great Patriotic War.
Thus, 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Khalyk Kakarmany Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev (10/19/1924-08/10/1988), the first to hoist the red flag over the Reichstag and the 100th anniversary of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the first holder of the title “Halyk Kakarmany”, the first Minister of Defense of independent Kazakhstan Sagadat Nurmagambetov (05/25/1924 – 09/24/2013).
Kazakhstanis fought bravely at the front, more than 500 of them became Heroes of the Soviet Union, and four – T. Begeldinov, S. Lugansky, L. Beda and I. Pavlov – became Heroes twice.
The exploits of Kazakh women, including A. Moldagulova, M. Mametova, H.Dospanova, are vivid examples of courage and devotion to the motherland. They will forever remain in people's memory as great women who fought in the name of freedom and independence of the country.
The section also contains materials from the personal archive of the Panfilov guardsman Sagai Adamovich Ayapbergenov.
II. "Collection of pistols from the collections of the Presidential Center of the DPA of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
In this section, using the example of a collection of firearms of the Presidential Center, the evolution of the development of pistols is presented – from revolvers to modern small arms.
Since man mastered tools, and then cold and throwing weapons, they have become a means of survival and food production. Later, primitive weapons will become a way to resolve conflicts and contradictions. The development of engineering, science and technology contributed to the creation of new types of weapons – firearms.
The exposition allows visitors to get acquainted with the creations of outstanding weapon designers, such as Lefauchet, Colt, Browning, Federle, Stechkin and others. Pistols and revolvers of world arms manufacturers from Europe, the USA, Russia and Turkey are presented. Among the exhibits, there are antique copies - Bundelrevolver, Lefauchet revolver and dueling pistols.
III. "Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
The section introduces viewers to the history of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan since May 7, 1992. On this day, decrees were signed on the transformation of the State Defense Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and on the creation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Materials from the collection of the Presidential Center relay the historical heritage in the field of military security, as well as the formation of Kazakhstan's statehood through the prism of the creation of modern Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition will be open until May 30, 2024.
