In honor of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of Academician Kanysh Satpayev and Day of Science Workers of Kazakhstan, the first day of the International Scientific Forum for schoolchildren "Scientific Education, Innovation and Youth - the Basis of Sustainable Development" was held at the Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The National Institute of Intellectual Property "Qazpatent," the International Center of Scientific Collaborations (ICSC), the Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the event to promote children's scientific creativity and increasing the involvement of Kazakhstani schoolchildren in the global scientific community.
Science popularizers from China, Pakistan, Tunisia, Indonesia, as well as schoolchildren and teachers from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, took part in the Forum.
"Science and education play a key role in the development of our society. Your participation in this forum is a step forward in building a future where knowledge and innovation will shape our world. Students here are the future of our country, and your curiosity, enthusiasm and creativity in solving problems are the key qualities we need to achieve new heights in science and education," said Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his welcoming speech.
BRISEC President, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Hyang Ping Wuemphasized that international cooperation is fundamental to the development of scientific potential. We need to create a world where science education breaks down barriers and enlightens the global community.
"The Science Forum is a communicative platform to consolidate the intellectual potential of the younger generation and encourage their commitment to science. It aims to show teenagers' research projects to solve problems in various fields of science, innovation, and invention. The event will be attended for the first time by over 700 students from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as schoolchildren from Kyrgyzstan, the USA, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan. This shows the growing popularity of this forum, not only in Kazakhstan but also beyond its borders," said ICSC President LazzatKusainova.
The peculiarity of this event is that the speakers of the Forum were children themselves, who became winners of international scientific competitions abroad, as well as teenagers whose scientific developments are at the stage of patenting or copyright registration.
At the end of the event, a tour of the museum of the Presidential Center was organized, where the participants of the Forum got acquainted with the history of the formation of the statehood of Kazakhstan through the prism of the development of the institution of the presidency.
It should be noted that the cultural and educational activity of the Presidential Center, aimed at enlightenment and education of civic consciousness of youth, as well as to strengthen the creative values of the younger generation is one of the priorities in the work of this organization.
Recall that since the beginning of 2024, the Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan held about 20 different cultural and educational events, reaching out to over 600 secondary school students in Kazakhstan.
For reference: The first Scientific Forum for schoolchildren was held in April 2023 in Astana.
