





The topic of the expert round table discussion "The Legislative Branch: Transformation and New Guidelines" on March 19, 2024, in Astana, was representative bodies' roles in advancing and fortifying the concept of "Law and order" in society. The Presidential Center of the Department of Presidential Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized the event.
Director of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Temirbolat noted the importance of the legislative branch in the formation of the necessary legal infrastructure for the observance of law and order in Kazakhstani society.
In his address, Nikita Shatalov, a member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, discussed the development of the institute of parliamentarism in Kazakhstan at the present stage.
In turn, Deputy Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States Talgat Aduov spoke about the role of TURKPA as a kind of forum for political dialog to discuss common problems of Turkic peoples and States through parliamentary diplomacy.
Nurbek Pusyrmanov, Director of the Institute of the History of the State of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a report on "Establishment of the Institute of Parliament - a real result of improving the electoral system".
Also during the round table were heard the reports of the Director of the Institute of Constitutional and Political Studies Maqsut Narikbayev University Indira Aubakirova ("Legislative branch: realities and challenges in the context of modernization of values"), chief expert of the department of political analysis of the Institute of Public Policy of the party "AMANAT" Erlan Ahmedi ("Evolution of Kazakh parliamentarism and rational democracy").
Domestic parliamentarians, Kazakhstani and foreign experts, representatives of the scientific community, development institutions and civil society institutions, faculty and students of universities, as well as representatives of the media attended the event.
During the expert meeting the main problems of institutionalization of the supreme legislative body at different historical stages, prospects for the development of parliamentarism in Kazakhstan in the process of modernization of the entire socio-political system, as well as the role of representative bodies in the legal enforcement of the principle of "Law and Order" were discussed.
