The Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan featured the "Melody of Spring" exhibition in honor of Abylkhan Kasteev's 120th birthday and the "Nauryz Meiramy" holiday. 
The event was organized jointly with the Nursultan Nazarbaev Foundation and the Union of Artists of Astana to promote national traditions and customs associated with the celebration of Nauryz, to form a respectful attitude to the history of our country, as well as to acquaint a wide audience with the work of artists of the capital. 
In her welcoming remarks, Botagoz Kaipova, the Deputy Director of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, pointed out that the organizers of today's event are working together in a creative tandem to preserve, enhance, and advance our country's artistic craft heritage.
In turn, Deputy Executive Director of the Nursultan Nazarbaev Foundation Alkey Margulan emphasized that the heritage of Abylkhan Kasteev, as the founder of the national school of fine arts of Kazakhstan, requires its consistent study and wide popularization.
According to the Chairperson of the Union of Artists of Astana, Umirali Ismailov, representatives of modern fine arts of Kazakhstan, whose works you can see at the exhibition "Melody of Spring", are the continuators of the traditions of the national art school, while they all have formed their own individual creative "handwriting".
Within the framework of the exhibition, residents and guests of the capital can familiarize themselves with more than 40 works of painting, sculpture, graphics and arts and crafts. Each of the presented works is filled with deep philosophical meaning, conveying the authors' reflections on the surrounding reality, deep historical roots and the future of the Kazakh people.

The exhibition will run from March 18 to April 5, 2024.

For reference: January 14, 2024, is the 120th anniversary of the birth of the first Kazakh artist, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR Abylkhan Kasteev (1904-1973), who is called the founder of the fine arts of Kazakhstan. The outstanding painter and graphic artist created more than 1100 works, which today constitute the national treasure of the country. A. Kasteev's paintings are a kind of artistic chronicle of the formation of Soviet Kazakhstan. They reflect the love and reverent attitude of the master to his people, native land, national history and culture.
