On December 6 and 19, the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a museum lesson titled "The Institution of Batyrship: Traditions, Status, and Weaponry" for students from the capital’s Gymnasium No. 5 and the Karim Mynbaev School-Lyceum No. 59.

The lessons took place in the museum hall "Kazakhstan in the Global Community," where Senior Expert of the Cultural and Educational Projects Service, Gulsum Sarsekeeva, engaged the students in a discussion on the concept of state independence and shared insights on the history of the country’s main national holiday—the Independence Day.

The lecturer then explained the five types of weapons used by the Kazakh batyr, collectively known as "bes karu," and delved into the institution of batyrship. The students also learned about the tradition of weapon gifting, its history, and the unique characteristics associated with this practice. Schoolchildren also learned about the tradition of giving weapons, its history and peculiarities. Pupils had an opportunity not only to see the museum exhibits up close but also to touch unique artefacts from the collections of weapons presented in the expositions.
